Yours Truly, Kenna

When was the last time you sent a letter to a friend?
Having grown up in the era of E-mail, sending a letter via snail mail is quite fun! Writing it out, choosing my favorite best stamp and then dropping it into the mail box has given me the greatest satisfaction. Then there is getting one in return, don't even get me started, I love it! There is something simple and sweet about sending/getting a letter, it just feels so sincere.

Feelin' Happy

Have you ever worn your "happy outfit" for a day?
Hopefully all of your outfits make you happy, but I'm talking about really happy. Like make you turn into a walking musical kind of happy. My "happy outfit" must include:
a twirly skirt, bold lipstick and a quirky accessory.
Bonus points if you find a door that matches your outfit.

Red Rocks

Having lived in the wild west our entire lives, this has been a favorite hiking trail and picnic spot. Especially because gosh, look at these rocks! If you are ever in Sedona, be sure to bring your camera! It was rather cloudy so the sky looks white, but cloudy skies are perfect for picnics so we definitely are not complaining.

Thank You

We hope that you have had a wonderful memorial day!

Kenna here, have you every been to a rummage or estate sale and have been aghast at how cheap precious treasures are being sold for?

I went to a garage sale and came across a worn plastic bag full of medals. The gentleman having the sale said that some were his grandfathers medals, others he found at an estate sale and a few belonged to family members, but he couldn't remember exactly who. The little sticker on the worn bag said $3.
I didn't know what to do! Only $3???
I wanted to offer him more, but another customer was trying to get his attention, so I payed him and left. After doing some research,
I found that the medals ranged from WWII to The Korean War.
(I am still researching further, so I'll keep you posted!)

A Twirly Skirt and Buster the Butterfly

Something about wearing a twirly skirt, banana earrings, a bright floral hair scarf and mustard wedges makes me giddy.
Oh and carrying a cactus, we can't forget the cactus.

Peaches and Pugs

Have you ever tasted a peach so juicy-licous that it would be a crime not to eat it right off the tree? Call me a squirrel, but I believe this is going to call for some serious peach hoarding.

The Peach Festival

Every May, a farm in our community has a peach festival, and we discovered it this year! I guess there is always something wonderful to discover in your neighborhood :)
In addition to a "You Pick" peach orchard, they had a "You Pick" garden, hay rides, kettle corn (a main food group in my book) and a loads of other exciting festival attractions.
Don't forget your sunscreen!

Nautical Fever

Do you have nautical fever? Talk to your Doctor if the
Mainstay By Me Clutch is right for you. Side effects may include:
Sudden bursts of sailor tunes, the need to dance a jig and the sensation that you are a pirate. If side effects persist, you may need to purchase an accompanying blazer.

Have a fantastic day!

A Cactus Dress and Moccasins

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Spring has sprung! And so has our love for cacti.
Cacti are rather odd plants, with their needles and interesting choice of habitat (gosh cacti, showing us up with you lack of air conditioning) but never the less, we find them pleasantly unique and quite adorable! Just remember not to use one as a chair,
bad idea.
COMING SOON: a fancy DIY post on how to pick, pot, and preserve a cactus! It will be quite entertaining.

May The 4th Be With You

May The 4th Be With You!!!
Written by Ian Doescher, these hilarious volumes put Star Wars
in a more Tudor setting. Shakespearean if you will.
In the set you will find: "William Shakespeare's Star Wars"
"The Empire Striketh Back" and "The Jedi Doth Return".
Lulu and I have had quite a laugh, Doescher preserves the true force of the Star Wars classics, but with an interesting twist!
Amazon
Weezie may look like an Ewock of sorts, but she is constantly on the hunt for power. Perhaps this "Mr. Potato Head Darth Vader" helmet will help her on her journey to the dark side.
This picture (shot on our Mom's prehistoric flip phone)
was taken when Darth Weezie was but a young Padawan.
