Hey amigos! Kenna here, I AM SO HAPPY! Er mer gersh! You know that feeling when you cross the finish line and then look back and squeel? That's how I have been all day! Today marks one year since I had spinal fusion surgery to mend my scoliosis.
(no worries, there are no pictures that will give you the heebee jeebees) It's been a long haul, and I can't wait to see what's next!
Left: Before. Right: After.
Not all scoliosis requires surgery. My first official x-ray in mid January of 2014 showed that it was at a 39 degree curve, but when we rechecked it in early March it had gone up to 50 degrees.
In all, I have 2 rods, 19 screws and a bar that links the two rods together. Oh, and a 15 inch scar.
But seriously guys, I had no idea how awesome it is to breathe!
(My heart/lungs where getting squished, so I was constantly feeling like I couldn't quite catch my breath)
